HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The cleaning out of the pumpkins is not a favorite chore!  Brendan doesn't mind so much anymore, but Zach needed some accessories!  Then Sadie wanted some too!

Fairy, Angry Bird, Link

Zach made his own Link shield by following a tutorial on YouTube!  I think it turned out great!

Happy First Day of Fall

I am dreaming of this:

My friends in far off (and even not-so-far-off) places assure me that their temperatures are cool and beautiful.  I miss experiencing fall!

Instead, this is my reality:

McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park

Every December before Christmas we head up to McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale to ride the train and see the Christmas light display.  In the past we've had to wait in line for hours, but this year, we timed everything perfectly.  We got their early and let the kids ride the carousel and play on the playgrounds, then about 30 to 40 minutes before the first train ride, we got in line.  We were on the 2nd train of the evening and were done in time to go eat and get home at a decent time!  We love this tradition!

Luminaria Run

December 3rd we drove up to Cave Creek so the boys could do the 5k Luminaria Run.  It was pretty cold, so we bundled up!  We had a fun time and got to see an amazing sunset!

December 2011

Brendan and Zach both had Christmas concerts to participate in.  Zach sang in the BFCS concert with his class, and Brendan played saxophone at the GCA Winterfest and at the Music & Arts Christmas concert.

Sadie (im)patiently waiting for the BFCS concert to start!

Somehow Zach always is right in the center for his concerts!

Brendan, pre-concert!

Florida - November 11-15, 2011

On November 11th, Molly and I flew to Fort Lauderdale, Florida!  We had a great time away from our husbands and kids, but more importantly, we went for Erik.  On Sunday, November 13th, we participated in the 13.1 Fort Lauderdale Half Marathon.  Molly of course, finished (even though she'd had a stomach flu earlier in the week).  I wasn't prepared, but I did finish 4.5 miles, so I was proud of myself.  That amount brought me right up to the beach and was also the same distance that Erik ran on his birthday in 2010.  Erik had wanted to train for and run a half marathon, which is why we chose to do that.  While in Florida we also visited Epic Tattoo where he worked and met Pani, his boss, and Shea.  We visited Delray Beach where he lived.  We drove by his house, watched a sunrise on the beach and found the places on the beach where he ran on his birthday, and where his body was found, less than a month later.

Erik - we love you and miss you every day!
